Boost Productivity by Connecting Google Calendar, Tasks, and Keep

Google has made a substantial update to Gemini Live by giving Google Calendar, Tasks, and Keep real-time access across Android and iOS. This update allows users to manage their schedules, reminders and notes directly into live conversations which is extremely valuable for a more integrated and personalized experience.

Gemini Live was announced during the Google I/O 2025 in May with the integration of Google’s important apps to Gemini Live. Gemini Live has the ability to create Calendar events, set a Task reminder, or add a note to Keep all without leaving the interface of a live chat. This update is an example of Google’s broader vision of combining two indispensable apps – communication and productivity – into its Gemini Live experience and simplifying and streamlining workflow.

How It Works

The integration began limited testing in late June and is now being rolled out more broadly. Initially, Gemini Live connects to Google Maps, Calendar, Tasks, and Keep, allowing people to easily add events while in-chat or quickly provide location information.

If you are a Samsung user, you will see a few other connections to Calendar, Notes, and Reminders. It was reported that once turned on, Gemini Live will show the app name with fullscreen controls and a loading state. When you perform user actions like creating lists, it will provide you confirmation messages that provide “Undo” if you want to correct something quickly. Users can say specific commands like “Create a new task in Tasks” or ask generic questions like “Do I have any reminders today?” and get instantaneous responses. These functionalities complement Gemini Live’s existing video and screen sharing features, allowing for immediate event creation when dates appear in the user’s environment or on-screen.

Rollout and Availability

Although early adopters had access starting late June, the rollout continues for the stable and beta versions of the Google app on Android and iOS. This expands Gemini Live’s capability as a personal productivity assistant, and reinforces Google’s commitment to integrating AI-driven tools into how people work daily.
